Kashmiri Chillies. The pronunciation "Shakuti" is
most probably derived from the word "Chacuti" which
is Portuguese, although the Portuguese Chacuti is brownish in
colour as compared to the red Goan Xacuti.
Goan Chicken Cafreal

is the equivalent of Portuguese-style grilled chicken and the
sauce it is marinated in tastes a lot like the famous Portuguese
Peri-peri sauce. Serve Chicken Cafreal hot with a fresh green
salad.
Goan Chicken Vindaloo
Description: This is a goan
chicken dish called Chicken Vindaloo. If you
are fed up with ordinary chicken preparations, it is a very
good option to try out. First I thought,the red color of the
dish is due to adding by some color,but after the dish was prepared;
I was suprised by the color and texture of the curry. It was
so good in taste too. Vinegar and spices are the specialities
of chicken vindaloo. If u don't like to add vinegar,replace
it with lemon juice.This dish will create hot and tangy taste

a birth, wedding, Christmas or Easter! Making Bebinca requires
patience - a layer can only be added when the one below it is
cooked - but the end result is well worth the effort. Traditional
Bebinca has 16 layers, but you can make as many as you like.

Patolleo". Patolleo or Patoleo are known to command a nostalgic
feeling among Goans for centuries and are a very aromatic and
simple preparation of a delicacy that Goans faithfully root
for, year after year.the Goan sweet patolleos are intrinsically
connected to the use of turmeric leaves in which they are baked
or steamed leaving a distinct aromatic flavour which is in itself
a big draw to the taste buds. Other variations of the Patolleos
are the "Kholle" or "Dhonne" which are cone
shaped patolleos made with jackfruit leaves instead of turmeric
leaves and have a similar following when it comes to its distinct
taste.
Vonn / Coconut Jaggery Dessert

the vonn.
Dodol
Description: Dodol is one of
the famous Goan sweetmeats, traditionally prepared at Christmas
time. This is a soft jaggery-flavoured fudge made from palm-sap
jaggery, rice flour, coconut milk, butter and vanilla essence.
Preparation of this sweet is similar to Indian Halwa. It is
usually cooled in a flat pan and served in slices, and is very
sweet. This moist dark jaggery cake is a must during special
occasions in Goa.
